Agnes Stack Grainger (Babe) passed away on June 6, 2022. Babe was born and raised in Pratt City and was a lifelong member of St. Catherine, St. Patrick, and Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Churches. Preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, John W. Grainger, Sr. and great granddaughter, Summer Grace Grainger, her parents William and Sarah C. Stack, brothers: The Rev. John Henry Stack, Frank Stack, James Stack, and sister, Mary Josephine Stack. She survived by her sons, John W. Grainger, Jr. (Marian) of Birmingham, Michael J. Grainger (Donna) of Nashville, J. Thomas Grainger (Sallye) of Birmingham and daughter, Mary G. Foster (Greg) of Birmingham. Babe had ten grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren. Babe attended Saint Catherine Elementary in Pratt City and Saint Paul's High School. Babe was retired from Pizitz Department Store where she worked as a personal shopper. The family would like to express their deepest gratitude to the entire staff at Brookdale University Park for making Babe's 11 years as a resident comfortable, safe, and secure.

Visitation will be at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church in Homewood, Alabama on Thursday, June 9th from 9:00 to 10:00. the funeral Mass will follow at 10:00 with Father Frankline Fomukong officiating. Private burial will follow at Elmwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Our Lady of Sorrows or a charity of your choice.
