Obituary

Carl Clarence Griffin, 87, of Birmingham, AL but currently residing in Pass Christian, MS passed away Friday, October 21, 2022.
He was born in Marvel, AL on December 14, 1934, to Ethel and Clarence Griffin.  On December 25, 1954, he married the love of his life, Barbara Garrison.  They were married 60 years, at the time of her death in 2014.  Mr. Griffin served 22 years active duty in the United States Air Force and retired in 1974.  During his Air Force career, as an aircraft electrician, he traveled all seven continents of the world.  After moving back to Birmingham, AL, he worked at the Mulga Coal Mines, Birmingham Southern College and retired a second time, from Alabama Metal Industries in 2000.  Before his decline in health, Mr. Griffin enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening and just piddlin'.  Of course, his favorite  pastime was just being with his girls:  Barbara, Debra and Maggi.
Mr. Griffin is preceded in death by both his parents; his wife, Barbara; and sister, Mary Herren.  He is survived by his daughter, Debra Roden (Craig) of Pass Christian, MS; granddaughter, Maggi Nations (Andy) of Ocean Springs, MS; great granddaughter, Emily Grace Nations; brother Michel Griffin of Birmingham, AL; beloved furry friend and constant companion, Tiger; and extended family including in-laws, nieces, nephews and cousins.
