Christopher Wade Click
October 11, 1965-November 11, 2024
Christopher Wade Click of Adamsville, Alabama passed away peacefully on Monday, November 11 at UAB Hospital. He was 59.
Chris was a devoted and proud father to his two sons, William Sloan Click (Madeleine) and Daniel Christopher Click. He dearly loved his four grandchildren, Raelyn, Riley, Jackson, and Jolie Click. He will also be deeply missed by his parents, Charles and Bonnie Click, his siblings, Tracy (Kay) Click, Terri (Tom) Mellown, Chuck (Kim) Click, and Dawn (Cary) Bice, as well as 11 nieces and nephews and 13 great nieces and nephews.
A graduating member of Minor High School's Class of '84, Chris was a four year letterman in football. He was a loyal school bus driver for Jefferson County Schools for 24 years and spent time landscaping, responsible for the upkeep and beautification of Midway Methodist Church.
A lifelong Auburn fan and an avid hunter and fisherman, Chris enjoyed spending time on the Warrior River at his family's river cabin. He was a jack of all trades, often using his ingenuity to fix or improve tools in pursuit of his hobbies in gardening, canning food, and beekeeping. Many will remember Chris for the delicious honey he produced from his 40+ hives, especially his nieces and nephews who affectionately referred to him as Uncle Pooh.
Chris was a true artist. Mastering the art of woodworking and leather-working, he enjoyed making his family and friends handmade gifts. From a young age, music was Chris's passion, and he spent his early years playing in church. An accomplished musician, he enjoyed all types of music—from gospel and country to jazz, blues, and rock. In the early 90s, Chris toured the country with his band, Jackson Trace, and later enjoyed sharing his talents locally around Birmingham.
Perhaps the greatest hallmark of Chris's life was his close knit relationship with his family. He was blessed to have his parents, siblings, and many close friends nearby. The memories, good times, and laughter will not soon be forgotten and Chris will be forever missed.
