Clyde H. Mathis passed away in his home on October 13, 2018 in Warrior, Alabama surrounded by his family. He was 89 years old. Mr. Mathis was born on October 13, 1929 in Birmingham, Alabama to his parents John and Lucinda Mathis. His life was dedicated to family and serving God in his church where he was a member of Hillview Baptist Church in Forestdale, Alabama. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and friend. He was preceded in death by his loving wife; June Mathis. Mr. Mathis is survived by his present wife; Lois Mathis; son; Greg (Nina) Mathis, step-children; Rhonda Scott, Steve Moore and Larry Headley. Eight grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at Hillview Baptist Church 800 Heflin Ave E, Birmingham AL 35214 on October 19, 2018 at 2 pm. Brother Gene Carver and Brother Bill Garner will officiate.
