Obituary

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Colin A. Pickle. He is the loving son of Heather Pickle of Brookside and Gary Carreker of Jasper. Born on August 17, 2007, his sweet spirit joined his grandmother Susan and great aunt Tammy in the Kingdom of Heaven on January 9, 2014. Tammy and Susan Pickle were twin sisters, daughters of Carolyn Southard and Norman (Mickey) Burkett, Sr. Colin is survived by his parents, Heather Pickle of Brookside; Gary Carreker of Jasper; great grandparents, Carolyn and Bruce Southard of Republic; Bill (Marsha) Pickle, Sr. of Brookside; grandparents, Bill (Kathy) Pickle, Jr. of Mt. Olive; Gary (Kim) Carreker, Sr. of Cullman; Julie Johnson of Jasper; aunt Lacey Pickle of Quinton; uncles , Chris (Mary) Pickle of Brookside; John Ware of Jasper; great uncle, Norman Joseph (Tereasa) Burkett Jr. of Hayden; aunt Diana of Florence , also survived by extended family members. Colin is a much loved little boy. Colin attended grade school at Brookville Elementary in Graysville, where he was noted for his knack for creative story telling/writing. He was a very happy, active little boy who loved arts, crafts, camping and fishing. He especially enjoyed helping others with work projects. Colin was always thinking of others, Colin loved his many friends and his special cousin Maddy Pickle. His comical personality will be missed by his many friends at Brookville Elementary School. His family wishes to thank the staff of the BMTU of Children''s Hospital for their heartfelt, loving kindness, and highly professional demeanor during Colin''s treatment. Colin loved each and every one of the staff members. Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 15th at Bell Forestdale Chapel with burial to follow at Bivens Chapel Cemetery. Rev. Guy Moore will be officiating. Visitation will be on Tuesday, January 14th from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. at Bell Forestdale Chapel. Bell Funeral Home Forestdale directing.
