Obituary

CPO Richard Weyher retired USN. Born in Petersburg, MI April 23, 1934, passed 9/9/2017 in Birmingham, Alabama.   He is survived by his Wife of 61 years, Frances M. Weyher; Son, Rick Weyher (Friend Terry); Daughter, Vickie Edmonds; Grandson, Jamie Gordon; Great Granddaughter, Eloise Gordon; Great Grandson, Jonas Gordon; Brothers, Sisters, Several Nieces and Nephews living in MI. Began Naval Career 5/26/52 and retired 7/15/74, served aboard several Ships including USS Benhan, USS Randolph, USS Aldehbaran & USS Josephus Daniels. The Ship he held most dear and being a Plank Owner is serving aboard USS Enterprise CVN65; the worlds 1st necular powered Air Craft Carrier. He served aboard this historic ship during The Cuban Missile Crisis. Chief Weyher was proud to have a small part in protecting the freedom of the American Peoples; he was extremely proud to have a part in defending this great nation in which he lived. Bravo Zulu to you Chief Weyher. He attended Sylvan Springs United Methodist Church and in lieu of flowers it is requested you may make contributions to Sylvan Springs United Methodist Church. Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 14th at Sylvan Springs United Methodist Church with burial to follow at Village Falls Cemetery. Bro. Kevin Higgs officiating. Visitation will be on Thursday, One Hour Prior to Service at the Church.
