David W. Holmes, 79, of Bagley, passed away on January 23, 2023. A true Renaissance Blues Man, he wore many hats. His favorites were a black fedora and being the best Pop ever. A man of many words, he was a lover of them, especially those written in red. From saloon singer to evangelist, his life took many turns, the best of which was when he married his wife, Jane, almost 27 years ago. She was his light, and he was quick to tell you that. Together they formed a very blended family, always striving to make sure that everyone felt loved, and supported. He was so very proud of all his family, but especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents Jimmy and Sue Holmes.

He is survived by his loving wife Jane; his children, Bridgette (Doug), Beth (Tim), Suzanne (Brad) and Scott (Michelle). He is also survived by his grandchildren, Shana (Derrick), Dustin, James, Nikki (Hunter), Sebastian, Skye, Kaitlyn, Harry and Jacob; and great grandchildren Jade, Caroline, Kyndall, and Tucker.

Visitation will be on Saturday, January 28, 2023 at Noon with a memorial service to follow at 1 p.m. at Bell Funeral Home, Forestdale Chapel (2077 Pratt Highway, Birmingham, 35214). Pastor Jacob Elliott officiating.
