Obituary

Joy Dulin, age 89, of Brookside, peacefully left this life on May 1 st , 2019 after a lengthy illness. Born on July 28, 1929 in Birmingham and raised in Blossburg, she was the daughter of H.H. and Annie Wheeler Billingsley. She was an active member of Brookside Church of Christ.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and by her husband, Louis (Bill) Dulin. She is survived by her son Michael Dulin (Jan), daughter Brenda Sides, grandson Jerry Cowart (Tanya), granddaughter Stacey Mitchell and two great-grandsons, Carter and Cash. She is also survived by her brother, Garner Billingsley (Colleen), sister Gloria Wolfe, cousin and friend Freida Billingsley, along with nieces, nephews and grand-nephews. She will be forever missed by a host of friends and family who saw the Spirit of Christ in her every word and deed.

The family wishes to express its thanks to Dr. Noah Fitzpatrick and Dr. Leonard T. Heffner, along with the staffs of their respective hospitals, St. Vincent's and Emory's Winship Cancer Institute in Decatur, Georgia.

Thanks also to Town Village, River Highlands, and the administration and staff of Compassus Hospice. The family is deeply grateful to her caring sitters, Edneshia Billingsley, Sylina Rogers, Trina Marable and Carla Robinson.

Visitation will be 11 A.M., Tuesday, May 7 th , 2019, at Brookside Church of Christ, with the funeral at the church at 12 noon. There will be a short graveside service and interment immediately following at Bivens Chapel Cemetery.
