Obituary

Coshatt, Donna Sue "Susie" Martin, was born September 24, 1953 in Jasper, AL. That day, the world became a much better place. After a long illness, Donna went to heaven on March 17, 2014. She had a passion for life and for children. She was never too busy to listen or comfort anyone who needed her. She taught children in Sunday School and Children's Worship and with her songs and stories many children were touched. She became a beautician at the age of three (which is a long story) and later had her own Electrologist business in Vestavia until 2005 when illness forced her to retire. In 2004 she was diagnosed with Liver Disease and in the past ten years she has "Fought the Good Fight". When people went to comfort her, they received comfort from her. Donna was preceded in death by her parents, Billie & Dot Martin. She is survived by her husband, Dennis Coshatt. Her sister, Linda Higgins (Jim); brothers, Billy Joe Martin (Beth), Steve Martin (Cindy); she was a 2nd mother to Harold Drummonds (Michelle), Craig Drummonds (Jennifer), Johnny Drummonds, Bo Martin (Mindy), Teri Bickerstaff (Dan), Stephanie Pollock (Joey), Adam Martin (Monica) and was "Aunt Donna Great" to many nieces, nephews, her BFF Ann Jackson and many other relatives and friends. We know God had a Children's Sunday School Class waiting for her to teach. Our lives will never be the same. Memorial Service will be held on Thursday at 2:00 p.m. at Pleasant Grove Church of the Nazarene. In lieu of flowers the family asks that you honor Donna by donating to St. Judes Hospital or the Ronald McDonald House. Bell Funeral Home Forestdale directing.
