Obituary

Mrs. Dorothy "Dot" Nell Salter, passed away on Thursday, February 25, 2021, at the age of 77.
"Dot" or "Sister", as she was affectionately known by her friends and family, was a person who never saw the bad in anyone. She truly cared about everything in life, especially all of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, she supported them in all their endeavors, be it sports, band or even choir she was always there to cheer them on. Her only regret was not being able to be in two places at one time. Mrs. Salter was a proud graduate of The Minor High School Class of 1961. She attended every reunion she could, and later frequented the Minor High School sports events, as well as held a season pass for UAB football, and attended every game with her husband, James. She and James were happily married for 55 years, she supported him every step of the way, even attended all of his marine corp platoon reunions and was said to be like a sister to them all. They enjoyed going to various libraries for book clubs together, and made frequent trips to Allstar diner for wonderful food and fellowship with friends. After graduating high-school in 1961, Mrs. Salter went to work for Bouloukos & Oglesby law firm until she retired in 2008 at the age of 65. She was a lifelong member of Mulga Baptist Church where she served as the church clerk, secretary, sang in the choir, taught Sunday School classes and was involved in the W.M.U.
