Ed Autry, age 92 of Birmingham, died Oct. 2, 2017. Mr. Autry was owner of Jeane's Dental Laboratory and was still active at the time of his death. He attended Ensley High School and served in the U. S. Navy in WW II on the Submarine "Moray", which was responsible for the sinking of two Japanese Warships off the coast of Paramushir in the Kuril Islands. He was a member of Sandusky United Methodist Church and Masonic Lodge Metro West # 815. He was preceded in death by his Father and Mother, Ellen and Henry Autry and Brother, Bayse. He is survived by his Wife, Lorene Autry of 70 years, Daughter Judy (Dr. William) DeWitt, Grandchildren: John (Lisa) DeWitt, Dan (Leigh) DeWitt, Kellie (Russell) Templin, Kandace (Seth) DeBolt, Krista (Jordan) Wood; 13 Great Grandchildren and Nephews: Steven Ronilo, Jimmy and Coy Autry. Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, Oct. 5th at 12:00 Noon at Bell Forestdale Chapel with burial to follow at Oakland Cemetery. Visitation will be on Thursday from 10:30 a.m. until time of service. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Alabama.
