Eileen Jurgensen Angelillo

September 11, 1922 – May 7, 2023

Eileen (Mom) lived 100 remarkable years, and she touched so many lives along the way with her kindness and grace. She was predeceased by her devoted husband Ralph of 70 years, who was introduced to her by her big brother, Bob, at a World War II dance, thus beginning the journey of their marriage. This union was blessed with four sons: Michael, Larry (deceased), Tom, Dan.

Eileen and Ralph enjoyed traveling the world extensively with Ralph's AAA Company. Eileen's love for travel began at a young age when her parents Adolf and Edna Jurgensen, took the family on a road trip on Route 66 from her birthplace, Paterson NJ, to California in the back of a 1935 Packard automobile.

In 1964 the family moved to Cherry hill, NJ, where Ralph and Eileen continued to raise her boys with her mother and father. Upon retiring in 1985 Ralph and Eileen split their time between Birmingham, AL, and Palm Bay, Fl. Enjoying summer visits with grandchildren who always knew there was Breyers ice cream waiting for them in the freezer and "Grandma's Famous Mac and Cheese" in the oven. Eileen was taught to play golf by her husband at the age of 60. She became an avid first flight golfer and enjoyed the game until she reached 90. She was a very good athlete all her life, playing on the women's basketball team and was a cheerleader in high school.

In 2012 they moved to Birmingham full time, where she enjoyed meeting new friends of all ages. She had a great sense of humor and quick wit, in her quiet stately way And her 100 years of wisdom was appreciated by all.

Her surprise 100th birthday was a wonderful celebration of her life She received over seventy birthday cards, three birthday cakes, and dozens of bouquets of flowers. With joyous tears in her eyes, she said, "I'll never forget this day for the rest of my life!"

Her grandchildren and great grandchildren were a source of great pride. Grandchildren (11) are Allison, Candace, Anthony, Mary, Lauren, Lindsey, Tim, Tommy, Kristen, Michael, George. Great Grandchildren (21) are Jonathan, Scott (deceased), Ivy, Hailey, Reilly, McKenna, Suzanna, Trevor Jr., Tiana, Dominic, Chloe, Emily, Anthony, Tyler, Oliver, Sophia, RJ, Cooper, Gracie, Louise, and Annie. And 1 Great Great grandson, Xander. There are also many wonderful nieces and nephews. Eileen's loyal beloved puppy, sat close to her side until the day she passed away.

No tribute paid to Eileen can be better said than the loving words written by her 12-year-old great grandson, RJ:

"I miss grandma very much. She will now always be watching over us and making sure that we are loved. It is almost like she never left. I will now always be thinking of her up above. I will absolutely try to carry on her legacy as her great grandson. We were so blessed to have such a GREAT Grandma to live that long. She lived the best life she possibly could have. I know God would be so proud!"
