Ernest Wesley Salter, 86, husband of Shirley Fisher Salter, passed away Sunday, May 7, 2017 at home surrounded by family & friends.  He was born in Praco, Al.  Wesley was the son of the late Evan & Stella Salter and he was the father of the late Stella Diane McDuffie & David Wesley Salter and the grandfather of Tiffany Cofer.

Wesley was a member of Hopewell Baptist Church and a devout follower of Jesus Christ who is now with his Father & Redeemer.

Surviving in addition to his wife are his daughter, Peggy Salter Cofer of Pelham, AL; & son Robert (Rob) Wesley (Lori) Salter of Fountain Inn, SC; grandchildren, Tammy Cofer-Morgan (Steve), Connie (David) Eidson, Kayla (John) Peoples, Shayla (Anthony) Jenkins, Justy (Gray) Smallwood, Delaina Salter & 11 great grandchildren; Sisters:  Peggy Ann (Russell) Tanner, Kitty Banks, Faye (Allen) Woodall, Brothers:  Raymond (Pat) Salter, Jerry (Barbara) Salter, Gerald Wayne Salter and many loving nieces & nephews, special friends & his church family, the late siblings Herland Salter, Went Salter, Jeanette English, & Louise Cupp.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday, May 10th at Bell Funeral Home Forestdale Chapel.  The family will receive friends from 10:00 - 11:00 and service to follow, with final resting place at Freewill Cemetery in West Jefferson.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hopewell Baptist Church, 8270 Bluff Creek Rd. Quinton, AL  35130.
