Evelyn Bowman Dumas was born on April 18, 1927 and went to Glory on January 23, 2024 at the age of 96. She was preceded in death by Spouse,  Luther "Gorden" Dumas; Daughter, Sarah Dumas Nguyen; 5 Brothers and Sisters and Parents, Lloyd & Flora Bowman. She was a Faithful Member of Katherwood Baptist Church in McDonald Chapel. She is survived by her Daughter, Joyce Dumas Carter (Frank) of Chelsea; Grandchildren, Dawn Bagwell (Jerry) of Birmingham, Jason Carter (Stacie) of Richmond Hill, GA., Jared Carter (Dawn) of Clanton, Traci Riggins (Bryan) of Chelsea, Eric Nguyen (April) of Maytown, Tiffany Posey of Durham, NC; eighteen Great Grandchildren; Two Great Great Grandchildren; Sisters-in-law, Dot Bowman of Clifton, Texas and Betty Bowman of Anniston; a Multitude of Nieces and Nephews. A special thanks to the Ladies of Dogwood Residential Care for the Love and Care she received there and to Aveanna Hospice for the Care she received her last few months.

Funeral Service will be held on Friday, January 26th 12:00 Noon at Bell Forestdale Chapel with burial to follow at Highland Memorial Gardens in Bessemer. Visitation will be on Friday from 11:00 am until time of service.
