Faye Smith Ireland age 86 passed away peacefully at her home in the presence of her 3 children on Saturday, June 28, 2014. She was born Reba Faye Smith to the William (Bill) and Irene McConnell Smith in Birmingham, Alabama. She was a member of the Sandusky United Methodist Church. She was a graduate of Minor High School, worked for Internal Revenue until her children were born; she managed the Forestdale Swim Club for over 20 years. She was an avid bowler and secretary of her bowling league for over 45 years. She was a devoted Atlanta Braves fan.
She was preceded in death by her parents William (Bill) Smith and Ilene McConnell Smith, her husband of 54 years Eugene Ray Ireland, Brother Ted Smith, Sister Shirley Smith Greer and Son-In-Law Ben Worley.
Survivors are her children: Ollis Ireland (Lynn), Renee Speer (Bill) and Wade Ireland; Grandchildren: Chad Ireland (Lindsey), Cara Ireland, Stephanie Ireland, Brent Worley (Melissa) and Tyler Worley; Great Grand Daughter London Worley. Brother William (Bill) Smith (Mildred); Sister-In-Law Mary Alice Ireland Moore. Aunt Rubye Vickers (John). Step Grand Son, Matt Speer (Jennifer); Step Great Grandchildren Kaiden, Chloe and Baylor Speer and Jonathon Bates, Numerous Nieces, Nephews and Cousins. Special bowling friend RosaLee Lynn. Wonderful neighbors of over 50 years, Pat and Christine Patterson and Dot McCarthy. Caretakers: Sandy Yingling and Bobbe Male.
Family will receive friends on Monday June 30, 2014 at 5:30 - 7:00, with funeral services to follow at 7:00 at Bell Funeral Home - Pratt Highway in Forestdale, Alabama with graveside service only at Midway Cemetary on Tuesday July 1, 2014 at 3:00.
