Gail Carnes
Born Thelma Gail Duncan on June 15, 1935 to John S. Duncan and Hazel Bradford Duncan,
Mrs. Carnes passed away from complications of Covid-19 on December 24, 2020. She is
predeceased by her parents, husband Angus Wade "Pete" Carnes, brother John L. Duncan,
son-in-law Damien J. Cusick and grandson, Arthur Patrick Cusick. She is survived by her
daughter Susan Cusick Davis (Arthur), son Steve Carnes (Penny), grandchildren Matthew
Carnes and Colleen Cusick Yazdi (Zaki) and great-grandchild Elliott Damien Yazdi. Gail loved
sweets, the beach, shopping, Alabama football and Merle Haggard. She enjoyed traveling,
knitting, sewing and reading. Gail graduated from Minor High School. She made a career in real
estate and worked as a real estate appraiser for over 30 years. Gail was a long time member of
the Church of Christ. There will be a private family service. Memorials to Cure Alzheimer's
