Gary Eugene "Gene" Uptain age 76 of Pinson, passed away on Saturday, August 22, 2020.  He served as a Paratrooper in the 101st Army Airborne for 7 years, retired from Drummond Coal Company after many years of service and was a dedicated, loving, Father and Grandfather.

He was preceded in death by his Parents, Manley & Rhoda Uptain; Wife, Billie Gail Uptain; Son, James Eugene Uptain and Daughter, Astarsia Gail Hale.

He is survived by, Brother, Billy Uptain; Daughter, Vickie Uptain Hardin (James); Grandsons, James Matthew Hardin (Robyn), Jake Hale, Derik Hale

and Drew Hale; Granddaughters, Melody Gail Hardin Smith and Lea Joann Hardin and Eleven Great Grandchildren.

Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 26th at Bell Forestdale Chapel with burial to follow at Union Grove Cemetery.

Visitation will be on Wednesday from 1:00 - 2:00 p.m.
