Henry McCrorie (Bobby/Dusty) Dougherty, Jr. passed away on August 9th, 2016 at the age of 89 at his home in Adamsville, AL. He was preceded in death by his parents Henry McCrorie Dougherty Sr. and Gertrude (Thompson) Dougherty, brother Bill Dougherty, sisters, Margaret Dougherty, and Jeanie Dyess. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Helen Marie (Files) Dougherty, his sons Scott (Teresa) and Raleigh (Lisa) Dougherty and his five grandchildren, Stacey, Stephanie (Andrew), Taylor, Gracie and Mason, along with many nieces, nephews and friends. He was a US Army Veteran in World War II. He worked at TCI in maintenance and was known for his many years as a truck driver. There wasn''t anything he didn''t know about trucking and taught many people to drive. His many talents and hobbies include playing piano by ear, working in his wood shop building furniture and birdhouses and being a loyal Nascar enthusiast. He enjoyed camping and being with his family. He was a well known leader in his community, lifelong Adamsville resident and a member of Forestdale Freewill Baptist Church. Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, August 12, 2016 at Forestdale Freewill Baptist Church, with visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m. Rev. Mike Cox officiating. Burial will follow at Midway Cemetery. Visitation will be on Thursday, August 11th from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Forestdale Freewill Baptist Church. Bell Funeral Home Forestdale directing.
