Jackie Rigsby Bowen went to be with Jesus on April 2, 2026. Her life was marked by faith, devotion, hard work, a deep love for her family, and a wicked, glib sense of humor that kept everyone laughing.

She is survived by her sister, Peggy Shelton; her son, Rex Bowen (Brandi); and her daughter, Denise Russell (Howard), as well as six grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren, all of whom she dearly loved.

Jackie loved her work and approached it with dedication and integrity. She traveled extensively and cherished the places she visited, but she loved her home in Birmingham most of all.

Her love for her family was fierce and unwavering, and they will carry her memory in their hearts. There will be a private graveside service for family in Jasper, Alabama. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
