Banks, Jake, Jr. "Papa Jake" age 78 of Birmingham, passed away Sunday, July 28, 2013. He has worked at PDM Steel, Chicago Bridge & Fabricated Steel Products of B''ham; He served in the US Navy where he served in Korea, he was a member of VFW, Foreign Legion and Eagles Lodge # 972. He is preceded in death by his wife, Bobbie Jean Johnson Banks. He is survived by Nine Children, Mike Banks (Anna), Melissa Thomas (Jim), Roger Banks, Mary Brown (Dennis), Clayton Banks (Vicky), Barry Banks (Liza), Robert Rice, Sr. (Janice), Becky Woerner (Doug) and Jim Rice (Marsha); Twenty-Six Grandchildren, Numerous Great-Grandchildren and Several Great-Great-Grandchildren. Funeral Service will be at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 30th at Bell Forestdale Chapel with burial to follow at Union Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be on Tuesday one hour prior to service. Rev. Michael Parsons will be officiating. Bell Funeral Home Forestdale directing.
