Janice Virginia  Jarvis Johnson

August 27,1935- December 9, 2024

Janice Virginia Jarvis Johnson of Hillview, AL passed away peacefully in her home on December 9th surrounded by her family. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, sister and friend.

Janice was born in Birmingham, AL on August 27, 1935, to the late Lucille Franklin and Troy Lee Jarvis. She is also preceded in death by her brothers William (Billy) and Starlin (Bussie) and her loving high school sweetheart / husband of 66 years, William Harold Johnson all of Birmingham, AL.

She is survived by her daughter Teresa Johnson Webb (Charles) and son William Harold Johnson Jr., her grandchildren Ryan and Sarah Webb, along with many beloved nieces and nephews.

After graduating from Minor High School, Janice began a 40-year career with South Central Bell in Birmingham as an accountant in various departments. She took pride in her job and was known for her dedication, work ethic, and positive impact on those around her. She was smart, analytical and beautiful.

Janice was also totally devoted to her family. She always put others ahead of herself, making the holidays and other times special for all. She adored her grandchildren Ryan and Sarah. She filled their childhoods with joyous memories of trips to the beach, adventures at Dollywood and the fresh smell of bacon in the mornings. The morning routine consisted of a mouthwatering southern breakfast and the gameshow "The Price is Right".

Ryan and Sarah's foundational childhood memories consist of their beloved grandmother lathering them in sunscreen at the beach, sneaking them extra coins at the arcade, and satisfying their sweet tooth with late night runs to Krisy Kreme when the "Hot Now" light sign glowed.

Janice was a devoted Christian and enjoyed supporting potluck dinners at the Brookside Masonic Lodge. In her later years, she worshipped viewing Dawson Memorial Baptist Church on TV.

Janice will be greatly missed, but we are assured she's reunited with her beloved husband, Harold and in the arms of our loving God.

Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 14th at Republic Baptist Church. Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. until time of service with burial to follow at Bivens Chapel Cemetery. Bro. Guy Moore will be officiating.
