Obituary

Jeffrey Scott Stone, 52, of Mount Olive, Alabama, passed away on January 19, 2026. Scott was born on January 26, 1973, in Birmingham, Alabama, to Bill and Ann Stone.

He attended Minor High School, where he played football (Class of 1991). Scott continued his education at Jacksonville State University, graduating in 1995. While there, he was a member of the Kappa Alpha Order, where he formed lifelong friendships. Scott was a devoted, loving husband and father. He and his wife, Tevis, spent over 30 wonderful years together and were blessed with two daughters. Scott was selfless, hardworking, and always putting his girls first. He enjoyed Alabama football, going to the gym, and spending time with his family.

Survived by his wife, Tevis Machen Stone; his daughters, Annabelle Stone Purvis (Garrett) and Sela Alaine Stone; his mother, Ann Stone; and his sister, Crystal Stone. He is also survived by nieces, aunts, uncles, cousins, and many other family members and friends who will miss him dearly. Scott was preceded in death by his father, Bill Stone; his grandparents, Beck and Melba Bridgmon, Waymon and Elna Stone.

Throughout his adult life, Scott worked in sales, managed his own pallet business, and later founded Stone-South Home Inspection. In May 2023, he was diagnosed with glioblastoma, an aggressive brain cancer. Scott fought fearlessly while undergoing various treatments. Throughout his cancer journey, he demonstrated tremendous strength, perseverance, and faith, trusting in his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Though he will be deeply missed, we find comfort in knowing he is now fully healed and reunited with family and friends who have gone before him. The family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to the caring staff at UAB Neurology/Oncology for their guidance throughout this journey. They also express sincere gratitude to Expect Care Hospice for the compassion shown to Scott and his family during this difficult time. The family deeply appreciates the love, prayers, and encouragement from friends and loved ones.
