Obituary

Jimmie Nell Brown Robbins

Jimmie Nell Brown Robbins left this earthly life on Tuesday, January 16, 2018. Her personality and style was one that didn't go unnoticed, and her life here was lived big.

She was preceded in death by her parents, James Hollis and Nona Mae Brown.

She leaves behind her husband, Ronny, who lovingly and consistently took care of her in her last months. Also, two daughters, Robbie Kiker and Jamie Tidwell (husband, Jeromy).

She also leaves four grandchildren, Rebekah and Alex Black and Bailey and Maddie Tidwell, and one great-grand, Jayla Black.

She leaves three sisters, Becke Woods (Alfred), Phyllis Watson (Rex) and Carolyn Cohron (Johnny).

Jimmie was born in Aldridge on May 6, 1943 and grew up in Goodsrings, Ala., graduating from T. W. Martin High School in 1962. After graduation she worked in Birmingham for two years, then married her high school sweetheart, Ronny. They lived in Jasper and started their family having two daughters, Robbie and Jamie.

Jimmie and Ronny spent 30 years traveling and living in California working in the Outdoor Entertainment Business. They met people from all over the U.S. and made many friends.

In January 2016, Jimmie was diagnosed with cancer and began chemo treatments while still living in California. Then in June 2016, Jimmie and Ronny moved back to their home county and lived in Jasper. She continued her chemo treatments and radiation treatments at St. Vincent's Bruno Cancer Center, until May 2017. It was then determined to try and live "a quality life" with the time left.

Jimmie did just that! She spent time with family, went shopping and took some road trips. She fought back tenaciously and hard, but the terrible disease took over and her battle became too hard.

Her contagious laugh, bossy spirit and gift to "take charge" will be greatly missed!! She was "One of a Kind!" We love you big Sister, Wife, Mother, Meme and friend.

A time of visitation will be held Saturday, Jan. 20, 2018, from 3 until 4 p.m. at Woodland Trace Church of Christ, with funeral service to follow at 4 p.m. at the church. Bell Funeral Home in Forestdale has been entrusted with the arrangements.
