It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of John Wayne Martin, age 86, of Locust Fork, AL who passed away January 10th, 2025 at Diversicare of Oneonta.

John Martin was born on December 10th, 1938 in North Carolina to Henry and Rosa Martin. He retired from commercial truck driving. John enjoyed talking on CB radio as a hobby after retirement. He was also an avid fisherman and was known for his dedication to his family and God.

John Martin is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Tempie Martin, children, Terri Martin, Ellen Martin, Lisa Martin, 22 grandchildren, 45 great-grandchildren, and siblings, Steve Martin, Henry Martin, Frank Martin, David Martin, Mary Champion, and Dorothy Carter. He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Rosa Martin, children Gerald Martin, Wesley Martin, Rodney Stewart, Tracey Stewart, Reda Kelley, James Stewart, and Becky Teachworth, grandson William Martin and siblings Ronnie Martin, Jerry Martin, Joe Martin, and Harold Martin.

Funeral Service will be held on Sunday, January 19, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. at Bell Forestdale Chapel with burial to follow at Linn Cemetery (Graysville). Pastor Mark Quinn officiating. Visitation will be on Sunday from 1:00 p.m. until time of service.
