Obituary

Joyce Elaine Kelley Snider was born in Birmingham on April 30, 1931. On September 25, 2024, she passed peacefully at home and flew into the arms of her faithful and beloved Savior. She is preceded in death by her husband, John Walter Snider, Jr. (JW), parents Loy F. Kelley and Julia Augusta Kelley, and her 2 brothers Glen Kelley, and Jimmy Kelley.

She is survived by her 3 children Randall L. Snider (Sharon), Richard D. Snider (Rhonda), and Susan Snider Seymour (John), 17 grandchildren, and 21 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Joyce, known as Mama, or Mama Joy to family and friends, was the epitome of a southern lady who had a learned gentle demeanor toward everyone. She had a great love of the Word of God and studied her bible and prayed for her family daily. Mama was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who was deeply loved and will be deeply missed. She was also a musician, piano teacher, artist, and gardener, who had the gift of hospitality and opened her home to family, friends, ministers, and missionaries.

A Graveside service will be held on Saturday, October 5, at 2:00 at Jefferson Memorial Gardens, Trussville, Al.

In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to the Friends of Romania 1300 Corporate Drive Birmingham, Al 35242
