Obituary

Mrs. Judy Laine Stewart Northcutt, 78, of West Jefferson, Alabama, passed away peacefully on June 21, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family.


Born on July 24, 1947, Judy lived a life defined by faith, hard work, kindness, and devotion to those she loved. She was a talented florist and proud owner of Flowers by Judy, where she spent many years helping others celebrate life’s most cherished moments. Her creativity, warm smile, and caring spirit touched countless lives throughout the community.


Judy was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who found her greatest joy in her family. She leaves behind her children, Shannon Chance (Chris) and Christopher Northcutt. She was a loving grandmother to Cassie Henderson (Bart), Ashley Tubbs (Justin), Stefan Northcutt (DeAnna), and Gracie Northcutt.


She was also blessed with numerous great-grandchildren whom she adored: Addie, Emma, Isla, Stella, Hayes, Rustin, Ridge, Cora, and Kyleigh. Her love, guidance, and sweet spirit will continue to live on through each of them.


Judy was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Larry Northcutt; her parents, Jackson and Lillian Stewart; her brothers, Dwight Stewart, J.C. Stewart, T.L. Stewart, Arnold Stewart, Frank Stewart, Leland Stewart, and Marvin Stewart; and her sisters, Agnes Lowery and Sue Gooch.


Judy will be remembered for her generous heart, her unwavering love for family, her dedication to her work, and the countless friendships she cultivated over the years. Whether arranging beautiful flowers, sharing stories with loved ones, or offering a helping hand to someone in need, she made the world a brighter place. 

Visitation will be from 1:00PM - 2:00PM Wednesday June 24, 2026 at the Bell Funeral Home Forestdale chapel, graveside services will follow at 2:30 at Crestview Memorial Gardens.

 

Though she will be deeply missed, her family finds comfort in knowing that her legacy of love, strength, and compassion will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. 


In her final days, Judy was deeply touched by the many prayers, visits, calls, messages, and acts of kindness shown to her and her family. She wanted everyone to know how truly thankful she was for the love, support, and prayers that surrounded her during that time. The family is grateful for the outpouring of compassion and asks that Judy be remembered with the same warmth and kindness that she shared so freely with others.
