A long time resident of Birmingham, Alabama, Kathryn Wieland Price rested her soul February 14th, at her home in Pensacola. Katy was born in Stillpond, Maryland, September 14th, 1923, to Charles and Bett Wieland, and came to Birmingham in 1946, as the bride of her adoring husband Jones Price, who predeceased her in 1996. A loving and sparkling wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother many times over, daughter, sister, and friend to all she met, she brightened many lives in so many ways. She is survived by her loving children Jay (Ann) Price, Brad (Mary Guy) Price, Scott (Dr. Ann) Price, Elizabeth (Thad) Rybka; her beloved grand children Sam (Mia) Price, Sarah (Steve) Minor, John (Megan) Price, Anna (Rodney) Weaver, Elizabeth (Bradley) Taylor, Bradford (Leslie) Price, Pat Price, Rachel (Rick) Apple, Russell (Paula) Rybka, Susie (Greg) Matyas, plus numerous great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Her loss leaves a hole in our hearts, while at the same time, fills us with gratitude for the love she gave so joyfully to us all to share. A celebration of her life will be held from 1 until 3 p.m. on Sunday, February 25th, at the Birmingham Zoo Lodge.
