Ken Patterson, Sr. , age 80 of Adamsville passed away peacefully at Hanceville Nursing and Rehab on Friday, January 6, 2023 surrounded by family.  A graveside service will be held at 12:00 noon on Friday, January 13, 2023 at City Cemetery in Dadeville, Alabama.  Rev. Ken Patterson, Jr. will officiate.

Ken was a follower of Jesus Christ, serving as a Deacon at Westwood Baptist Church.  He had a long career in law enforcement, serving as a police officer and chaplain for 20+ years for the City of Birmingham and 10+ years for the City of Midfield.  He also worked for the FBI and as a private investigator for a few years each.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William Ray Patterson and Jessie Lindsey Patterson.  He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Carolyn Smith Patterson; son, Ken Patterson, Jr. (Tammy); daughter, Lori Collins (Len); grandson, Doug McKay, Jr. (Katie); granddaughters, Kristin McKay, Morgan O'Dell (Jon) and Macy Glover (Cody); great granddaughters, Finley, Ellison & Adeline McKay and Ruthie Bea O'Dell.
