Louverla Smith, beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on June 9, 2024, at the age of 93. Born in Winston County, Louverla lived a full and vibrant life dedicated to her family and her passions. Louverla was a loving mother to her three children: Deborah Kay Smith, Stanley Ray Smith, and Douglas Gregory Smith (Frances). She was a cherished grandmother to Matthew Smith (Stacey), Timothy Smith (Taylor), Jason Smith (Emily), Jonathan Smith (Erin), and Crimson Renney (Matthew). She also leaves behind a host of great-grandchildren, family, and friends who will miss her dearly. She was preceded in death by her devoted husband of over 60 years, Billy Joe Smith, her father Grady Gladstone Smith, and her mother Verla Olean Justice Smith. Louverla had a love for adventure and enjoyed camping in the Canadian provinces. She was proud to have traveled to 49 states, creating countless memories with her family along the way. Her warmth, generosity, and adventurous spirit will be remembered by all who knew her. Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 13, 2024, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Funeral services will take place on Friday, June 14, 2024, at 10:00 am in the Bell Forestdale Chapel, followed by burial at Jefferson Memorial Gardens in Trussville. Louverla's legacy of love and kindness will continue to live on in the hearts of her family and friends.
