Loventrice Marie Duren Grubbs passed away on December 7, 2017. She was born on October 22, 1919, in Cullman County to parents Tasker Duren and Vivian Harris Duren. She was married to Norman Dwight Grubbs for fifty-eight years before his death in 1997.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her brother Guy Duren, infant son, Tommy Grubbs, daughter Beverly Ann Grubbs, grandson Michael Grubbs, and son-in-law Lonnie Haley.

She is survived by her daughter Vivian Haley of Oneonta, son Richard Grubbs (Linda) of Chelsea, grandchildren Donna Bagwell (Terry) of Hoover, Matthew Haley (Idelle) of Stafford, VA, Melissa (Alan) Abrams of Chelsea, great-grandchildren Haley Scallions (Matt) of Homewood, Susanna Bagwell and Caroline Bagwell of Hoover, Robert Haley of Daphne, Carter Abrams, Charlie Abrams, and Collier Abrams of Chelsea.

Mrs. Grubbs was a resident of Pleasant Grove for sixty-five years, where she was a charter member of Cottage Hill Baptist Church and later a member of New Faith Baptist Church. She was a member of Pleasant Grove chapter of the Eastern Star. She had an inspiring impact on her family, her church, and her community.
