Mack Lawler Tate, age 86, of Graysville joined his heavenly Father on Thursday, July 21, 2022 after a courageous fight with dementia and heart failure. He was a long time member of Graysville United Methodist Church. He served his community by being a councilman from 1966 – 1980.

He is survived by son, Rev. Russell (Rusty) M. Tate and wife Phyllis of Alabaster, Al; grandchildren, Tyler Tate and wife Ruth of Wilmore, Ky; Kimberlee Tate Brooks and husband Stephen of Rogers, AR; Annsley Tate West and husband Richard of Rogers, AR; Andrew David Tate of Alabaster.

He is survived by daughter, Teresa Tate Thomas and husband Michael of Cairo, GA.; ; grandchildren, Mitchell S. Thomas and wife Kaitlan, of Merdianville, Al, Jeremy T. Thomas of Cairo, Tessa M. of Cairo. He had 8 Great grand children.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Thelma Yarbrough Tate; father, Claude Lester Tate; mother, Flora Marie Lawler Tate; brother, Claude Lamar Tate; brother, Billy Lester Tate; brother, Jack Howard Tate; sister Martha Lou Tate Brewer; brother, Edwin Lee Tate

Visitation will be on Monday, July 25th from 10:00 - 11:00 am with Service at 11:00 at Graysville United Methodist Church with burial to follow at Lawler Cemetery. Rev. Frank Verdi and Rev. Mark Parris officiating. In lieu of flowers the family request memorials be given to Graysville United Methodist Church.
