Mackinaw, Marie C., passed away peacefully on February 21, 2013 her 99th birthday. A lifelong resident of Pratt City and Sandusky, she grew up on Irish Hill. She was retired from UAB, where she worked in the emergency room and campus bookstore. She was a devout Catholic and lifelong member of St. Catherine''s / St. Patrick''s parish and a member of the Sunshine Club. She was very strong, compassionate, and devoted to her family. She was preceded in death by her parents William Sr. and Katherine Mackinaw, siblings William Jr., Kathleen Stahmer, Hugh, John and Crawford. She is survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins. A truly wonderful person who loved babies, she will be greatly missed. Brave to the end, she looked past death in anticipation of being reunited with her family, especially her beloved Papa. Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 23rd at St. Patrick''s Catholic Church with burial to follow at Fraternal Cemetery. Visitation will be on Saturday at the church from 12:00 - 1:00. Bell Funeral Home Forestdale directing.
