Obituary

Mary Evelyn Lynch Burr was born in Bell County Kentucky on December 7, 1924, to Norman Lynch and Ada Hawk Lynch and departed this life on November 30, 2024, just one week before her 100th birthday.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband James Marion Burr; son James Michael Burr; brothers Daniel Noble Lynch, James Lynch, and Dennis Lynch; and sisters Mable Lynch Presnell and Francis "Tootsie" Lynch Johnson.

Survivors include her sons Erroll Burr of Pleasant Grove, Al Burr (Donna) of Guntersville, Randy Burr (Georgia) of Birmingport, Tim Burr (Marie) of Dothan; daughter Patti Bearden of Kimberly; daughter-in-law Sandra Fulmer Burr of Graysville; sister Inez Lynch McCoy (Andrew) of Bristol, Virginia; and brother Greg Lynch (Jayane) of Kentucky. She is also survived by her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.

Mary first became a follower of Christ as a young girl, attending the Church of God in Beans Fork, Kentucky. In the 1960s, she embraced the Baptist denomination and was a faithful member of the Mineral Springs Baptist Church near her home in Watson, Alabama for over 50 years. After that, she attended the Birmingport Baptist Church.

Funeral Service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 4th at Bell Forestdale Chapel, 2077 Pratt Highway, Birmingham, AL 35214, with burial to follow at Bivens Chapel Cemetery. Rev. Buddy Price will officiate. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 10:30 a.m. until time of service.
