Obituary

Mary Carroll Kizziah age 94 of Birmingham passed away on April 14, 2021. She was a life long member of Sandusky United Methodist Church, where she actively volunteered for many years until her health prohibited it. She also loved serving her community by working the polls during elections for many years at her home voting precinct. She graduated from Phillips High School and then happily went to work. She eventually got a job in the scrap metal industry where she made that her career. She learned the business from the ground up where she gained a wealth of knowledge in the industry. She retired as an Administrative Secretary in that field. Mary was an avid reader and loved to travel. Every trip she made she came home with a new friend. As the eldest of 6 children, she lovingly embraced her role as "Matriarch" of the Jolly Family that she took on after the passing of her parents. Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Ernest and Helen Jolly of Birmingham; husband, Murray E. Kizziah of Birmingham; brother, Jimmy Jolly of Birmingham and sisters, Billie Jolly Grills-House of Hoover and Ernestine Jolly Kay of Birmingham. She is survived by her Sister, Ann Jolly Baker (Jerry) of Birmingham and Brother, Jack Jolly of Morganton, NC.; Many Nieces and Nephews, Great and Great Great Nieces and Nephews. Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, April 16th at Bell Forestdale Chapel with burial to follow at Crumly Chapel Cemetery. Rev. Danny Hallman will officiate the services. Visitation will be held on Friday at 1:00 p.m. until time of service.
