Norma Jean Canoles, 89, of Adamsville, Alabama, passed away on December 26, 2023, in Birmingham, Alabama. Norma was born on January 24, 1934, to Thomas and Willie Busby Wilkinson. She was preceded in death by her father, mother, brother Jack Wilkinson, and her beloved husband of 56 years, Lige (EB) Canoles of Minor Heights.

Norma is survived by her sister, Janice Baker, three daughters, Jackalyn Cooper (Rick), Teresa Walker (Gene), and Tammy Follo (John). She also leaves behind six grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren, and many loving nieces and nephews.

Norma was known for her fervent love for Lige and her passion for dancing, country music, playing cards and dominoes, and gardening. In her later years, she developed a love for oil painting, and her artwork now adorns the walls of her children and grandchildren's homes. Norma enjoyed spending time with friends and family, often gathering around the table or on the front porch, sharing coffee and enjoying her amazing country cooking.

Norma was a member of The Open Door Church in Minor, Alabama, where she found solace and community. Her faith was an important part of her life.

Services for Norma will be held at Bell Funeral Home located at 2077 Pratt Highway, Forestdale, Thursday, December 28th ,Visitation will be held at 10 am – 11 am, Service at 11:00 am at Bell Forestdale Chapel with burial immediately following at Midway Cemetery.  The family kindly requests that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Alzheimer's Foundation in Norma's memory.

Norma Jean Canoles will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all those whose lives she touched. May her memory be a blessing.
