Ovis Lemmer (Smith) Simmons
March 8, 1927 – October 27, 2017
Ovis Lemmer Simmons, age 90, of Adamsville, Alabama went home to be with the Lord on Friday, October 27, 2017. Ovis was the daughter of John Ervin Smith and Lemmer Rodgers of Cullman. She married in 1945, the love of her life, Huel Aaron Simmons. Ovis was a longtime active and faithful member of Adamsville Baptist Church. She loved her family and was a devoted wife, mother, sister and friend with a great inspiration to all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Huel Aaron Simmons; brothers, Lloyd, Claud, Jack and J.E. Smith; sisters, Essmer Chandler, Evelyn Easterwood, Avis Sims. Survivors include her son,
Jerry Michael Simmons, Cullman; one daughter, Pamela Susan (Randy) Constance, Graysville; one grandson, Jerry Michael (Desiree) Simmons Jr., Logan; two granddaughters, Ashley Renee' Constance, Helena and Michelle Elizabeth Constance, Adamsville; two great granddaughters, Makenzie Kaydean Simmons (Cole) Henson, Washington and Laci Camille Simmons, Logan; also survived by several extended family and a host of friends.
Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 1 st at Bell Forestdale Chapel with burial to follow at Spring Hill Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, One Hour Prior to Service. Rev. Mike Hill and Rev. Charles Click Officiating.
