Sonja Alma Bynum Canter age 81 of Dora, was called home to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday January 24 2021.

Sonja worked for many years as a secretary in pathology at Lloyd Nolan Hospital until her retirement.

She was a loving wife and mother and considered her many friends as family.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James and her son Keith. Her parents George Huston Bynum and Hazel Marie Hoops Bynum.

She is survived by her eldest son James, several nieces, Deanna, Irene, Carolyn, Mona Kay and Dixie, A nephew Terry, her adopted family, the Requena's and

her dear friends Butch Chambliss and Stephen Acerra.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday Jan 27th at 11am at Bell Forestdale Chapel with funeral service at 12. Burial to follow at Crestview Memorial Gardens. Brother Oscar Requena officiating.

Due to Covid 19 social distancing and face masks will be required.
