Obituary

JACKS, ZETTIE MAE MCGUIRE age 86 of Adamsville, Alabama went to be with her Lord on Wednesday, September 11, 2013. She was a faithful and active member of the Adamsville Baptist Church for over 50 years. Mrs. Jacks and her husband, Leon Jacks, owned and operated G.L. Jacks Auto Repair and Wrecker Service. Their business began in 1946 as a "mom and pop" grocery with gasoline pumps, known as "Macks & Jacks." Zettie Mae and Leon dedicated themselves to serving the people in and around the Adamsville area for close to 40 years through this successful, locally-owned business and their many treasured friendships with customers, employees and fellow community members. Mrs. Jacks was preceded in death by her husband, George "Leon" Jacks, her parents, Ossie and Clara McGuire, a sister, Dorothy McGuire Benefield Jones, and a brother, James Robert "Buddy" McGuire. Her survivors include: a sister, Audrey McGuire Campbell of Corner; Zettie Mae''s children, Carol Jacks (Warren) Morgan of Birmingham, Samuel L. (Debra) Jacks, Sr. of Bagley and Robert A. "Randy" Jacks of Crane Hill; her grandchildren, LeeAnn Morgan (Crawford) Pounds of Charlotte, NC, Cary (Micah) Morgan of Birmingham, Heather Jacks (Wade) Limbaugh of Adamsville, Samuel L. (Natalie) Jacks, Jr. of Bagley, George Michael Jacks of Bagley, Grant Jacks of Crane Hill, and Grace Jacks (Brian) Nunnally of Kimberly; and great grandchildren Morgan and Ansley Pounds of Charlotte, NC, Emmanuel and Simene Morgan, of Birmingham, Katelin and David Limbaugh of Adamsville, Samuel L. Jacks, III and Dalton Jacks of Bagley, Caiden and Bristol Jacks of Bagley and Ephraim and Eli Nunnally of Kimberly, Alabama. The family would like to thank the many friends for their prayerful support of Ms. Jacks, as well as New Beacon Hospice, ComForcare and other caregivers who helped care for Zettie Mae over her 10 year struggle with dementia. Funeral Services will be held at Bell Funeral Home Forestdale Chapel on Sunday, September 15th at 2:00 p.m. Rev. Dan Nichols and Rev. Mike Hill will be officiating. Visitation will be on Sunday, from 12:00 noon until time of service. Burial will follow the services at Midway Cemetery in Adamsville.
